One point I've forgotten to mention: I'm using Kubuntu with KDE 3. Bug #194474 kded in loop (100%CPU) when using 'mount automatically' https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdelibs/+bug/194474 can be watched on my laptop, too. Don't know if it matters.
