Thanks gherado. Unfortunately, the dmesg supplied only captured the successful boot [2.6.15]. Can you try again but this time try /var/log/dmesg.0 (or some other dmesg.*)? The dmesg should show [2.6.24] in the first line and hopefully the error point as well. You could also look through syslog & kernel.log to see if anything useful has been captured at the [2.6.24] error point. Thanks.
