I have the same problem on at least 2 different machines with at least 2 different models of HVR-1300 (five cards in total) using the cx88 driver.
I can confirm that the above patch does fix my instances of the readreg/writereg problem with the current linux-image-2.6.24-16.30. Is there any extra info that can be of use?
