Fabian, currently previous versions of ubuntu require a bit of massaging before sucessfully booting in kvm and we would not like to be misleading in Virt-Manager and thus generate deception. Previous version will run fine under the Ubuntu Hardy selection, but you need to apply first a workaround on the isos as described on the wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KvmVirtManagerEtc#head-b0ec3ef272ac32be6bd0128488367715914e3d29
