This is not limited to Dual Head.  A similar problem happens to me on my
laptop with no other monitors plugged in or configured.  I'm using the
recent Ubuntu 8.04 Release Candidate (fresh install).  I have desktop
effects disabled, using an Intel 855 graphics card with the default
Intel driver.  A screenshot is attached. (Note: I cropped the left half
of the screen to save space, but the entire right-hand part of the
screen is visible.)  Please let me know if there is any other
information you need to fix this.
