Public bug reported: It would be nice if, when one put a laptop (or desktop, come to think of it) into suspend-to-RAM, the kernel did all of the preparation for suspend-to-disk as well. That way, if the batteries die before the computer is reactivated, it'll just take a bit longer to restart (because it has to come back from suspend-to-disk) instead of losing state.
Obviously this is only useful if both suspend modes work. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- wishlist: suspend to RAM backed by suspend to disk https://launchpad.net/bugs/65715 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
