as I have put per the forum thread above I have had similar issues. However with the RC AMD 64 Server install seems to have finally installed after some work in rescue mode.
However with both the Beta and RC, my installs have not been clean installs - i.e. they were installed as a new system but on a re-created root partition onto an existing boxen running Hoary. I did re-format the root partition though. Possibility the re-format of an existing partition not working correctly?
