Public bug reported: Hi, I have a DV2058ea laptop, not sure what other laptops in the series would be affected by this. I previously installed Ubuntu Hardy Heron Beta on my laptop (the last beta I think), I could adjust the screen brightness and it worked perfectly (I think I was using 2.6.24-12-rt)! A kernel upgrade broke my Ubuntu install so I decided just to abandon it.
Yesterday I installed Ubuntu Hardy Heron LTS (Release Candidate) but sadly screen brightness can't be adjusted, I can confirm this is with or without the NVidia drivers. Would love this to get fixed, it's never worked properly since I first installed Edgy, I think it kind of worked in Edgy and Feisty (2 levels of brightness and buttons had to be pressed repeatedly), but didn't work at all in Gutsy. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Screen brightness cannot be adjusted (HP DV2000 series) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
