Public bug reported: For the last 3 or 4 days I've been having random system freezes. It's been happening about once a day. It's not something that I had happen before and I've been running Hardy as my main OS for about the last month for up to 18 hours a day.
I haven't detected a pattern to the lock up: it's not after a particular app has run, except that it may be on a file open/file save operation. But I can't swear that all the freezes have involved a file operation. Symptoms: Keyboard freezes. Mouse pointer is moveable, but windows can't be selected. There's no response to ctrl+alt+backspace or ctrl+alt+f1. Streamed music through Rhythmbox keeps playing though so the whole system is not down. System: 8GB RAM 30GB Swap 4 core processor Lots of spare hard drive space Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P motherboard. 64 bit Hardy Heron - stock edition - no kernel patches. Ati dual head radeon I haven't tried to Ssh in yet.
