Public bug reported: My external USB hard drive mounts normally but causes a complete system lock up after some seconds to one minute of read/writes.
This only happens under X, using the console the lock up never happens. However, it's a complete system lock up, any running process becomes unresponsive. I can't retrieve any information through ssh form another computer (as explained at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSystemCrash), and Music Player Daemon freezes playing a loop. dmesg doesn't contain any information about the error. Disabling ehci_hcd, the drives mounts through usb 1.1 and performs normally. See attached files for detail on the hardware. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [hardy rc] ehci_hcd causes complete system freeze https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
