Public bug reported: After upgrading to Hardy, my Asus Z71V laptop started over-aggressively dimming the brightness based on the built in light sensor. I could read the screen comfortably if I shined a light *on* the sensor, but in low light conditions the screen was significantly too dim.
The brightness keys (Fn + F5 / Fn + F6) have no effect at all. I've disabled the ambient light sensor and turned the brightness back up using the instructions in this thread: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=38935 It would be nice if the dynamic brightness were set a bit higher and the keys worked, but if that's not possible then it might be a good idea to ignore the light sensor by default. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Backlight level too low on Asus Z71V https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219463 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
