I think I may have found the problem. The current ubuntu repository version of alsa-driver uses the ALC882 patch for patch_realtek.c in the hda driver, but the latest HG repository has added a section to the patch_alc882 function to call patch_alc883 if the chip revision is the ALC889A as the ALC889A has better compatibility with 883 than 882.
I haven't had chance to compile the HG version of alsa-driver yet but will do so over the weekend. If that doesn't solve the problem, then I think a specific board configuration may need to be setup in patch_realtek.c for the Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H as BIOS auto configuration may not be working from this board. I'll create a new bug in alsa-driver if over the weekend the test still proves to be unsuccessful. ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => alsa-driver -- No CD controls in volume controls with ALC889a https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218906 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
