Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Some icons on the panel often have corrupted images. This normally
affects the volume control applet and "Display Geometry switcher"
(grandr), but occasionally affects other applets.
See the attached example. The text on the left is the user switcher, and
on the right is the volume control and geometry switcher applets.
This does not occur when using Compiz.
