Hi! I'm experiencing the same problem in Gutsy using mtpfs & Nautilus to copy files to my Creative Zen 8GB player (fw 1.21.01). The version of mtpfs (0.8svn) I have is installed from the http://ubuntu.jbbr.net repository. I've noticed that through nautilus I can only do a single batch copy (one or more files in one "drag'n'drop"). If I try to copy files after the first copy mtpfs breaks and cannot be used again before unmounting & re-mounting the player.
The problem doesn't exist when only using command line (cp) to copy the files to the mtpfs mount. Using cp I can copy any amount of files and cleanly unmount the player. This is why it looks like the problem is in Nautilus and not in mtpfs.
