PDF export still has problems in inkscape with current Hardy, at least when it comes to transparency. See my comments in the following bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/181789 (The bug is currently marked "Fix released," at least as far as inkscape is concerned, but I still have problems.)
