Sebastien, like flexR says, the 'allow to control pointer using keyboard' was set to 'on' after i upgraded wednesday to the latest development, from an up-to-date gutsy.
Before then i could use numlock, and type on the numeric keypad. After upgrade i noticed soon that it did not work anymore. Even after a reboot. I tried to file a bug, but found this bug report and the workaround described in the post by 'mikko sorri'. The only specific settings i have made in the past about my keyboard are that i have use dvorak.
