As far as I realize this situation, we do have 'normal' aspell and ispell dictionaries, and 'bad' myspell dictionary, which is used by OpenOffice.org and some other software. I don't know, why myspell in Ubuntu uses this 'bad' dictionary and not 'normal' dictionary like other distro (for example, Mandriva 2008.1) do. Will try to explore situation with russian dictionaries in myspell.
