Here's the current plan for Hardy: - We leave apport notifications enabled in update-notifier (GNOME). - We will disable apport by default in /etc/default/apport, so that we don't waste so many CPU/IO cycles on user's boxes, and this is a more discoverable place than gconf keys/adept configuration. - I recommend to enable notifications in adept again, so that users do not need to enable apport in two different places.
