Public bug reported: Network cable has to be plugged in the ethernet card before the booting of ubuntu for the network to work.
If the machine is started and booted upto the login prompt with out the network cable connected, it does not detect the network. I have to restart my machine with the network cable plugged into the ethernet card. I use pppoe for internet access and $sudo pppoe-discovery does not detect any servers on the network if the machine is started without the network cable plugged. Cant plug it later. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Hotplug networking https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217688 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
