Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xine-ui

When run with --auto-play=q xine often crashes (sometimes with a
segfault). Example:

lappy ~> mv .xine dotxine
lappy ~> /usr/bin/xine -g --no-splash --auto-play=q
downloads/keepers/byron_katie_why.flv
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.6cvs.
(c) 2000-2007 The xine Team.
zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) /usr/bin/xine -g --no-splash
--auto-play=q
lappy ~> /usr/bin/xine --version
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.6cvs.
(c) 2000-2007 The xine Team.
zsh: exit 1 /usr/bin/xine --version

another time it crashed with this message:
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0"
after 6610 requests (6610 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

I'm running ubuntu hardy, fully updated this morning. x86 laptop running
wmii window manager.

This xine bug is not new, it's been doing this for weeks at least.

Please let me know if I can provide further information or testing.

As you can see in the transcript above I removed my config file first.
This caused xine to pop up the configuration dialog, which I closed with
the "close" button. Attached is the config file xine created in that
run.

Note: xine closed the window and paused for several seconds (on my slow
old computer) before segfaulting.

** Affects: xine-ui (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
