I think this may have something to do with ATI XGL drivers, as I have
this problem on my laptop, but not on my desktop. the main difference
being that my laptop has the ATI xpress 200m while my desktop has a
GeForce 400. Usually it isn't too much of a problem, just kind of
annoying, like when adding entries to the main menu using alacarte, the
window to add a new entry appears behind the main alacarte window.
sometimes it renders new windows unusable, for instance forecast fox
plugin in firefox, when you put the mouse over the weather, the tooltip
with more info pops up, but then disappears, apparently having gone
under the browser. It didn't have this problem in firefox 2, only in
firefox 3, which seems to be better tied to the underlying graphics
engine.
