Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. The latest ufw in Hardy is now 0.16.2. ufw 0.16.1 and earlier logged INVALID packets, which results in many false positives. It is appropriate for ufw to block these packets, but not log them. I suggest performing from the remote host to be sure the port is open: nmap -P0 -p 37000 <host running ufw>
Keep in mind, the kernel is identifying these packets as INVALID. This could be because of a router or the service listening on port 37000. You did not specify what type of service this is and depending on the service, you may need to load additional kernel modules. These modules can be configured in /etc/default/ufw. ** Changed in: ufw (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Jamie Strandboge (jamie-strandboge) Status: New => Incomplete -- UFW blocks traffic inappropriately https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
