As I mentioned earlier, for unrleated relasons, I reinstalled and redid my updates etc and have installed all the latest adept updates. NO problems with Thunderbird now, which I still assume occurred when I installed the Phoenicity theme from the TB/ Mozilla site.
The gui came up, showing only the grids and the Trash icon, then crashed and vanished. Do you still need me to strace or backtrack the system in its current working version? advise....
