I will do that. In addition, through more investigation I have found that scrolling through the sizes (24, 25, 26... etc.) runs up the memory consumption of not just gnome-panel, but Xorg itself as well. Moreover, after closing the gnome-panel options dialog the memory of gnome-panel returns to what it was before, while Xorg does not. I happen to know there is something terribly wrong with Xorg as well as it will start off consuming ~100Mb and throughout a session of a couple days run up to nearly 300, but that belongs in another section obviously.
