I forgot to comment some things about the hardware: The graphics card is an ATI mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT
This laptop is one of 6 that were bought by the education authorities and sent to our school recently. They come with Window$ and SuSE preinstalled (I don't like SuSE, so I change the distro to Ubuntu, that I find much easier to use). Getting in the Window$ partition, I see that resolution is 1280x800, and frec. 60 Hz.
