Confirmed here on x86_64. Going from kernel 2.6.24-15-generic to 2.6.24-16-generic, boot now hangs at Loading Hardware Drivers.
Message on the console is "hda_codec - Unknown model for ALC883, trying to auto-probe from BIOS", after which the boot hangs. That message is present in the older -15-generic as well, but with that kernel the boot doesn't hang. -- [Hardy] "Loading hardware drivers" hangs while booting on latest kernel (Bypassing causes XServer crash) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
