This happens to me too. 8.04 Hardy Ubuntu. Amarok 1.4.9, I cannot get
Amarok to recognize or manage my iPod, even when explicitly setting the
mount point.
It also appears that Gnome is ignoring the System > Preferences >
Preferred Applications > Multimedia Tab as it always launches rhythmbox
when plugging in the iPod Video 5G. I have this set to Custom > amarok
and it appears to be reflected in the gconf setup yet amarok is never
launched.
