Oops! That should have been "c) accessing array elements... which rules out (c) - unless the array was unallocated". Boy I messed that up!
Anyway, basically I suspect it's an uninitialized pointer issue, which can be tough to track down, but the backtraces gathered so far are a good start, and hopefully turning off optimizations will give additional info. -- [gutsy] X crashes randomly - something with cursors?
