I'm having the same problem, only mine is 100% guaranteed to crash when
the "new message popup" shows. The best info I can get, regarding
verbosity, is "Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

I've also looked at the /var/crash folder and there's only one file in
there that pertains to Thunderbird. (See Attached)

I then followed with removing all extensions from Thunderbird, and it
would appear that it's a theme I'm using that's causing the trouble

Hope that help. Also should I report this bug to the theme creator?
