I confirm, that in my case is the same issue...

I have SD card named "1GB" all the time in my SD-slot, so after couple
of reboots my media directory looks like this:

% ls /media | grep 1GB
1GB
1GB_
1GB__
1GB___
1GB____
1GB_____

Ubuntu Hardy, kernel: 2.6.24-15-generic, Thinkpad X61
