I have a similiar / the same problem as well. I have a Dell Inspiron 8000, with a ~15" screen ( native resolution is 1600x1200, which is also what I have set in Kubuntu Edgy)
With the default Usplash, the KUBUNTU logo is correctly centered horizontally, but vertically it is not. It is shifted to the bottom so low that all I can see is "KUBUNTU" and I can't see the progress bar at all. If I change the vga= option to use a higher-resolution usplash, (I think I tried the 1024x768 one), then it shifts differently. It is then jammed on the right side of my screen, and maybe even downwards some. I can see the entire logo, but it's in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I have had this problem ever since I first installed Edgy. Except the usplash image was the "Edgy Eft" development image, not the current KUBUNTU one. -- Usplash shifted partially off-screen https://launchpad.net/bugs/64706 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
