Scott, try looking in either /var/log/syslog or .xsession-errors for any alsa related error messages you get. According to your alsa info output, pulseaudio should work, due to your audigy having the right mixer elements needed, but obviously there is something else. If you could get that output and attach to this bug, that would be much appreciated.
