Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Just upgraded to Gutsy and have since been experiencing system lockups.
Machine had to be turned off in 3 separate instances.

Symptons: Usually occurs during high cpu load. Several applications were
open including gcolor2, firefox3b5, eclipse with aptana plugin, update
manager, evince. Mainly occured during some form of animation due to a
transition from one window to another. System goes into complete lockup,
mouse moves but no buttons or shortcuts respond. I am unable to switch
to another virtual terminal and the system doesn't respond to
ctrl+alt+delete to reboot.

Disabling compiz from the appearance applet seems to have stopped the
problem from occuring as yet.

My system is fully updated as of today the 8th of april.

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
