I cannot use the Hardy Heron Desktop CD on my Thinkpad T61p for -- I believe -- the same reasons I had to have a text mode installation for this same system. The screen eventually goes black, a little CD activity can be heard, and then all is silent. I've got a less graphically fussy test system, and I'll try that sometime this week.
