Thank you for reporting this bug. However, we still need some more information
before we can pass it on to the developers. Could you please do the following?
Execute in a terminal the command lshal -m . This command is something like
syslogd and will show all events from HAL.
Now press the buttons to set the brightness.
Please attach the output of the terminal command and the file /var/log/kern.log
