So after the laptop woke up from hibernation with the sound not working, I did two experiments. First, I plugged in some USB speakers and they worked just fine.
Secondly I shutdown all /dev/dsp using software and slowly removed kernel modules until i could remove snd_hda_intel and then reload it And after that sound worked again. So this really seems to point to some small reinitialize hardware bug on wake up in the snd_hda_intel kernel module. Also, this bug (no sound) occurs when the laptop wakes up from a suspend. -- hda intel sound does not work after hibernate (hardy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207537 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
