I just installed a lot of patches today that included the kernel, nvidia, libc6, etc. and I am still having the problem. I am getting quite frustrated as it has been a week and I can't really use my computer. I am not trying to vent, but I am debating removing Hardy and going back to Gutsy which at least runs or switching from Hardy amd64 to i386. I really want to stick this through, but I am not sure what to even debug.
I have been trying to reproduce the problem with some python GTK widgets with no luck. I do not know why some programs are really slow, but others not. Most are X programs, mostly GTK, but not all. My upsmon is still timing out connecting to upsd as well as knutclient. So if this is the same problem, it is not just a GUI issue. I am open for any advise on what to try and am willing to provide just about any information, anything is better than no ideas.
