Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic

APOLOGIES
Terribly confused by launchpad, this is the same issue as #65039. Hope this is
in the right place. Please let me know how to get rid of #65039.
----------
I just upgraded with the kernel packages released yesterday (2006-10-09). I'm
running a core 2 duo laptop with an Intel 945GM graphics card. Previous to this
apt-get upgrade Beryl ran beautifully, now when I activate it my machine is
slowed down by thousands of syslog entries being appended per second:

i915_emit_cmds(nnn) Where nnn is a number normally 369, 374, 265, 359,
362 and possibly others. I can't identify a pattern.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
