I see... I was using the 8.04-beta version. Howerver, i was unable to boot the livecd, and the boot loader progress bar stopped at 49%, so i thought that this was the problem (that i already had with fedora). Maybe the ata_piix driver is compiled as a module and not present in the ramdisk?
