This bug should really be addressed one way or another for 8.04. The consequences of relying on gnome-panel to choose the right time zone for you are potentially quite unfortunate.
Sebastien, what's your opinion on #199644 as a preliminary fix for this? I still believe that the current behavior is mis-optimizing for weather instead of time, and that fixing 199644 is therefore correct in its own right and also goes a long way to address the worst symptoms of this bug. ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Low => Medium Target: None => ubuntu-8.04 -- Clock applet chooses wrong timezone for many cities (eg Pittsburgh, Beijing) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185190 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
