Hi wanted, Have you been able to test the 2.6.24-14 kernel and does the issue still exist? How comfortable would you be building and booting your own kernel? The reason I ask is that if the issue still exists, you could try doing a git bisect to narrow down the exact patch which is causing the regression you are seeing. This is obviously not required of you to do, it's completely voluntary. However, the following can help with building and booting the kernel and also contains a link to performing a git bisect: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/GitKernelBuild . The only change in the instructions is at step 2. You'll want to use the following to get the ubuntu hardy kernel rather than the upstream mainline kernel.
git clone git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-hardy.git Let us know your results with testing the -14 kernel. Hope this helps. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- [hardy][regression] disk I/O makes the system very slow and unresponsive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210502 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
