Public bug reported:

I have been experiencing very high CPU temperature on Ubuntu 8.04. The
reading I get from lm-sensors and gnome sensors is almost 70 degrees
Celsius when CPU usage is less than 5% or idle. Watching a video drives
it up to 80, and heavy CPU usage quickly pushes it to 90+!

I do not think it is a problem with my laptop hardware because in
windows XP the temperatures are reported to be in the mid 40s, which is
what I would expect.

Here are the details of my system:
Dell XPS m1210 laptop
Dual Core intel 2.0ghz processors
Nvidia Geforce Go 7400

OS: Hardy (8.04 beta) with all updates applied.
Kernel 2.6.24-12 generic on i686

Thank you for taking a look at this
