There's a couple of these modems now, the upstream mailing list
discussed another case recently.

The proposal was to "eject" the storage device, so that it could be
mounted if somebody really wanted it, rather than ignoring it -- but
then the thread started to point out that other cases of this are
already handled in the kernel with the UNUSUAL_DEV macro.
