I have Lenovo 3000 N100, running Ubuntu Gutsy, and I have the same issue. When resuming from hibernate, the CPU fan is "disabled" causing the CPU to overheat and eventually causes the computer to turn off (I guess the CPU just stops working, and thus causing the laptop to turn off).
I don't have other computers to check that this is a laptop only issue or not... This bug occurs everytime I get back from hibernate (I tried it 4 times since I first noticed it). In my opinion, this bug is critical since it can cause CPU damage, especially for end-users which don't pay attention to the computer hardware (I noticed it since I have a CPU temperature applet in one of the gnome panels). Some information on my hardware is attached (based on the information other supplied): dmesg & lspci -vvnn Attached uname -a: Linux user-laptop 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 07:42:25 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux ** Attachment added: "Output of `dmesg & lspci -vvnn`" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13029009/dmesg%20%26%20lspci%20-vvnn -- After hibernation cpu fan stops working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113081 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
