As described in bug #86103 and bug #87947 the
LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=true work-around shouldn't be needed anymore,
because the libxcb has been changed for hardy.
Also, you might want to try the openjdk-6 package which has the
possibility to be maintained much better - for one thing it's in the
universe repository instead of multiverse. One example is that a java
webstart fix was just made in openjdk-6 and it will likely be a
relatively long time before it's finally added to sun-java6. The
potential drawback is that openjdk is not a 'certified' release of java,
and there are some parts that Sun didn't release and complete
replacements haven't been made yet. Most people probably won't have an
issue though to use openjdk.
