Just for the record, I'm experiencing this same issue on a Sony Vaio with an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600.
In fact, I filled a bug report not being aware of the previous existence of this one (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208835). Therefore, my bug was marked as duplicate.
