Oops! Now I get it.
The output to all 3:
> apt-cache policy grub
> dpkg -l grub
> debsums -s grub
tells me that grub is not installed. And it's true. I'm using grub-
gfxboot.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache policy grub-gfxboot

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ debsums -s grub-gfxboot
debsums: checksum mismatch grub-gfxboot file /sbin/update-grub
I guess that pretty much explains it all. This bug report shouldn't go
under "grub", right? I'm a little embarrased for not sharing that
information on the first post. I thought that the upgrade would
reinstall grub. Well, live and learn :$ What's next?
I suposse the checksum mismatch is due to the fact that I changed the
script per the instructions in my first post.
Thanks again for all your hard work!
