Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
upgrading from gutsy to hardy 8.04 beta 4 on older intel 32 based pc. dell dimension 4100. downloaded all the packages, complete install processing and was to begin clean up phase when upgrade stopped. not sure what info you need. last line of the terminal in the update manager says: "IOError: {Errno 9] Bad file descriptor hardy: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor) on X server :0.0." previously during the upgrade, the update manager reported errors related to the upgrade of Alien Arena. not sure if that had anything to do with it. if there are other files needed, let me know. I can run the upgrade again if you want. this is a back up PC so I was just testing it out.
