Also having this problem... example: playing music in rhythmbox when the song starts... doing a few window switches/alt-tabs etc... after a while the stuttering goes away... It's really irritating because it happens every time.. also with movies etc...
Only way to resolve this is to set playback to ALSA in sound config.
