Public bug reported:

Hello,
I am trying to get to work an NVIDIA Quadro 100M video board in Ubuntu 8.04
with kernel 2.6.24-12. I download nvidia-glx, since the restricted driver
detection (System>Administration>Hardware Drivers) only wants to install
nvidia-glx-new. This causes X to not start up, flickers and goes back to the
terminal, tries again, and this process repeats three times, until I get the
safe mode default window and it runs at 800x600. Please help.

I've tried installing the nvidia-glx-new, nvidia-glx and nvidia-glx-
legacy drivers...
